Bearded irises grow best in full sun. In well drained soil of moderate fertility that is not excessively acid; applications of of lime periodically are usually benificial. At planting time the rhizomes should be only about half covered with soil, leaving part exposed above the soil... Plant 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 feet apart.
